Your West Coast Surfari Morocco Surf Holiday...

All abilities of surfer enjoy our surf holidays in Morocco......

If you are a beginner or are progressing in your surfing you will benefit from the advice and guidance from our knowledgeable surf coaches. You can have as much surf coaching as you'd like to learn and improve your surfing.

If you are a competent surfer you will benefit from our surf camp's excellent location where you can get on the waves in minutes.

Location Location Location......stay right by the sea

Our surf camp is in the very best location to access the best surf in the area. We stay right by the waves and have other excellent beach and reef breaks just round the corner. This means you can grab your board and be in the sea in less than 5 minutes!

Our surf base in Morocco is an ideal base from which to explore and surf the many other quality waves nearby. All along this coast there are perfect waves for all abilities. We will do a few day trips each week when the conditions are right, to take you and your boards to other quality breaks in our new UK-registered minibus.

Surf from dawn till dusk.......

On our surf holiday you will have the opportunity to surf from dawn till sunset. Our surf coach team know all the best breaks and in which conditions they work best, and can offer you sound advice as to where to surf depending on your ability.

As with all our surfing holidays our male and female surf coaches and guides will be available to offer advice and coaching to help develop your surfing skills and confidence. We can also use video analysis, which is probably the best tool for surf coaching, to help you see where you can improve on any aspect of your surfing.

Time out from surfing ......

If you are taking some time off from surfing there are cafes, restaurants and surf and clothes shops in the nearby village of Taghazout. There is plenty of cheap transport up and down the coast as well and  Agadir is only 30 minutes away. There are also weekly local markets selling fresh fruit and vegetables, spices, Moroccan goods. There is also a large Souk in Agadir selling just about everything! Agadir also offers a varied nightlife, and good restaurants and cafes.

Small is beautiful.......

We limit the numbers in our Morocco surf camp to around 8 people per week. This makes for small and friendly groups of surf travellers; you are bound to make a few new friends on our trips!

Evenings are a great time to socialise, discuss the day's surfing, and put the world to rights! We vary the rountine; sometimes eating home cooked food at the surf camp, and other nights we eat out at one of the many local cafes.

Leaving Morocco.......

We offer transfers both ways, so we drop you off at the airport or coach station for your journey home. You'll leave with a tan and a sense that you've improved in your surfing ability!

About Surfing in Morocco and the country and cuisine

Why travel to our Morocco Surf Holiday.......

Even though Morocco is just a few hours South of Europe, it is culturally and weather-wise a world apart. During the European winter Morocco has great surf and good weather. There is always plenty to do and see on your Morocco Surf Holiday.

Surfing in Morocco......

Morocco is ideally situated for winter surfing. Its location in between the ocean and the desert means it offers ideal winter surf conditions. With the largest desert in the world on one side bringing hot and dry weather conditions, even in winter, and the western coastline exposed to constant swells from the North Atlantic, Morocco offers a quality surfing experience.

Timing is everything......

Our surf holidays to Morocco run from mid December till the end of February. Whilst this the middle of the Moroccan winter, the weather and the sea are so much warmer than the UK. This time of year usually offers the best, most consistent clean surf of the year. The water temperature is a comfortable 16 – 20 degrees, and the air temperature 18 – 30 degrees during the day and 12 – 17 degrees at night.

Our Morocco surf camp offers breaks to suit all abilities. The surf is usually really consistent, with an average day offering 2-4ft clean waves and a light offshore wind. Some days the swell is much bigger at around 6ft. Depending on the conditions of the day, we can advise you where to surf.

Check out the latest surf conditions for our surf camp on the surf report for Taghazoute website.

Culture......

Moroccan culture is rich and fascinating. French and Spanish colonial influences can be seen in the architecture and culture across the country. Indigenous people have a rich culture too, in the area where we stay the Berber are the local peoples. Locals are friendly and welcoming.

You may have heard of the Moroccan Hammams - traditional steam bath houses - fantastic for a thorough cleansing and reviving. They can be found in most towns.

Cuisine

Moroccan food is as famous as it is delicious. Food is often cooked in a Tajine. This is a heavy ceramic plate with a conical lid. Meat or vegetables are cooked slowly and to perfection with herbs, fruit and spices. Make sure you also sample some mint tea on your trip. It's strong and sweet!

Morocco offers an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables. Local markets are full of good value produce, and by shopping there you will be supporting the local economy. We cook a few nutricious meals for our guests each week, made with fresh local ingredients. During your stay we will take you to the local markets to select your own food, should you wish to try cooking yourself.

You can further enjoy Moroccan cuisine area by eating out at any of the cafes in either Taghazoute or Agadir. Food is good value and the cafes are friendly and welcoming. Many cafes are open-air and run by a family. They offer freshly cooked produce including fresh fish and Tajine dishes, as well as European food such as pizzas. So whatever your taste, Morocco will have something special for you.
