Our Private 1-1 and Private Small Group surfing lessons allow you to experience the undivided attention of you very own instructor! We're able to provide you with the opportunity to fine tune your lessons and advance your skills whatever your ability - beginner to advanced surfer!

The experience of a 1-1 Surf Lesson allows your instructor to focus on your surfing, giving us the opportunity to provide you with more advice and direct feedback which in turn helps you to catch loads more waves!

Our Private Small Group settings are perfect for groups ie. Families, Friends, Organised Groups, who do not wish to be part of a larger, more public group lesson. You'll get the undivided attention of your very own surf instructor, making for a successful and extremely cost effective way to learn new surfing skills and techniques quickly. These lessons can be tailored to your needs, depending on your current surfing skill and ability.

All our Private Surf Lessons are approx. 2.5 hours long and are taught from March - December. (Lessons are available between December-March subject to availability and personal surfing ability - we don't recommend this time of year for beginners!). All equipment is provided for you - O'Neill Wetsuit, Surfboards (suitable for your ability). If you have your own equipment you're more than welcome to bring it along to your lesson.

What are the benefits of a Private Surf Course? A Private Surf Course allows us the opportunity for us to provide you with personal surf training either individually or as your own small chosen group. You instructor gets to spend the entire lesson focusing on your skills and techniques. Many people find they catch more wave and make a lot of progress in these lessons. Ideal if you don't have a lot of time to get your skill up, or if you are looking to up your skills for the long term!

How many people will be in my lesson? If you book a 1-1, it's just you and your instructor. For our Small Group Lessons it is a group of your choice (family member's, friend, collegues etc) so you can decide who you'd like to join you. We can take a max of 5 people per instructor. If you would like to bring any more then we will provide you with more instructors!

Who will be teaching me? We have both male and female coaches at the academy. Only our most experience and highly qualified instructors run our Private Surf Courses. Generally we'll designate you an instructor, but if you'd prefer a male or a female coach just let us know when booking.

Are the Instructors Qualified? It takes a lot of work to become a surf coach, and we are proud that all our coaches are all licensed, hold BSA coaching awards, all qualified as SLSA/NARS Beach Lifeguards/Surf Coaches with instructing experience under West Coast Surfari at Watergate Bay and are members of Sports Coach UK.

How do I book my Private Surf Course? To book a Private Surf course you'll need to call our office on 01841 520052 where you can speak to our coaches to discuss your individual requirements. This way we can make sure you get the best coach for the job on the day, especially is you require a specialist lesson i.e. shortboard coaching.
